BLINK 182 Bored To Death lyrics
[Blink 182]
There's an echo pulling out the meaning...
Rescuing a nightmare from a dream!
The voices in my head are always screaming
That none of this means anything to me
And it's a long way back from seventeen
The whispers turn into a scream
And I'm not coming home
Save your breathe, I'm nearly
Bored to death and fading fast
Life is too short to last long
Back on earth I'm broken
Lost and cold and fading fast
Life is too short to last LONG!

There's a stranger staring at the ceiling
Rescuing a tiger from a tree
The pictures in her head are always dreaming
Each of them means everything to me
And it's a long way back from seventeen
The whispers turn into a scream
And I'm not coming home
Save your breathe, I'm nearly
Bored to death and fading fast
Life is too short to last long
Back on earth I'm broken
Lost and cold and fading fast
Life is too short to last long
I think I met her at the minute that the rhythm was set down
I said I'm sorry I'm a bit of a let down
But all my friends are daring me to come over
So I come over and over and over
So let me buy you a drink
And we'll pretend that you think
That I'm the man of your dreams
Come to life in a dive bar
And we'll go over and over and over...
And we'll go over and over and over...
And we'll go over and over and over...
And we'll go over and over and over...
Save your breathe, I'm nearly
Bored to death and fading fast
Life is too short to last long
Back on earth I'm broken
Lost and cold and fading fast
(Life is too short to last long...)

Talking about how they came up with the album title, the band joked
that there were other names that didn’t make the cut. “There was one
title that was called ‘No Future,’ explained Travis. “But people felt it
was very negative. [laugh] I thought it was awesome.” Hoppus
then offered a funnier title. “I suggested OBGYN Kenobi.” “Nude
Erection,” added Travis with a laugh.
“I think any fan of Blink-182 is going to be ecstatic when they hear
the music. I really do!,” says KROQ Music Director Lisa Worden. “It
sounds like Blink-182 but it sounds like Blink in 2016. Lyrically, the
songs are clever.” Worden explains that of songs she’s heard, it’s
primarily Hoppus on vocals with Skiba adding harmonies. “As a fan of the
band for the last 20 years, I was so happy with what I heard. It was
the band I’ve loved all these years.”
“Bored to Death” is presumably off Blink-182’s upcoming album, rumored to be called California. The proper follow-up to 2011’s Neighborhoods is due out sometime this year and features production from Goldfinger’s John Feldmann.
According to KROQ Music Director Lisa Worden, the group’s seventh studio LP “sounds like Blink but it’s not anything that we’ve heard before,” adding, “For fans of the band, they’re going to be super happy with it. It starts with Travis’ unmistakable drumming — it’s just that signature Blink sound — you immediately know who it is.”
