Blink-182 are reportedly due to record new music with Matt Skiba of Alkaline Trio as soon as next month.
The information was revealed in a new interview with band member Mark Hoppus in Billboard. Though the interview focuses mainly on Hoppus' work making music for a new film, it is mentioned that the trio will head into the studio in August.
Hoppus and collaborator James Ingram have written the score for four-minute stop-motion animated short I'm Scared.
Matt Skiba has previously said that he is keen to record with Hoppus and drummer Travis Barker, with whom he is currently playing live.
Skiba joined the band as a live member earlier this year, after Barker and Hoppus split from Tom DeLonge when the singer allegedly refused to enter the studio and record a new album with them. A statement from Hoppus and Barker followed, asserting DeLonge had quit the band.
